Since its humble beginning in 1990 under the aegis of Shishu Koruna Sangha, Bodhicariya Senior Secondary School has grown from just 30 students to a thriving CBSE-affiliated institution of over 1,500 learners from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. Many of our students come from underprivileged and tribal communities across North East India and West Bengal — a fact that strengthens our belief in education as the greatest equalizer.

Situated in the fast-growing heart of New Town, Kolkata, our campus combines modern infrastructure with an ethos of compassion and inclusiveness. The very name Bodhicariya — drawn from the Pali words Bodhi (wisdom) and Cariya (the practice of that wisdom) — reflects our mission: to blend knowledge with character, learning with empathy, and success with service.

At Bodhicariya, we nurture holistic growth. Alongside strong academics led by a team of qualified and passionate teachers, students engage in a wide range of co-curricular and extracurricular activities including Karate, Basketball, Badminton, music, dance, art, and dramatics. These programs promote physical fitness, creativity, discipline, and teamwork — shaping balanced individuals ready to take on life’s challenges.

Our modern, Wi-Fi-enabled campus houses well-equipped science and computer laboratories, digital classrooms, and separate sanitation facilities for boys and girls. We also provide hostel accommodations for students from distant regions, fostering a warm, multicultural learning environment.

To prepare students for life beyond school, career counseling sessions and interactive guidance workshops are regularly conducted. These initiatives help students recognize their strengths, explore career opportunities, and make confident choices about their future paths.
